CLINICIANS AND TREATMENT PROVIDERS
Treatment Centers, therapists and counselors serve a critical role in protecting public safety and supporting our participants in their return to practice.
Therapist & Treatment Provider Responsibilities
- Communicate entrance into treatment, treatment progress and discharge recommendations to UPHP.
- Ensure participants are participating in treatment at the level indicated by their comprehensive clinical evaluation or monitoring agreement.
- If in treatment, submit weekly treatment updates. If in therapy, submit Therapist Reports either monthly or quarterly
- Consider work setting and public safety concerns when making recommendations.
You should contact UPHP directly whenever you identify that the participant engaged in treatment or therapy exhibits any of the following:
- Active Substance Use
- Has a positive toxicology test
- Changes in behavior
- Absent or tardy to treatment sessions
- Leaves treatment against medical advice
Evaluators
At UPHP, comprehensive clinical evaluations are used to establish diagnosis, treatment recommendations and to determine safety to practice. UPHP evaluators must have the qualifications and experience to conduct fitness for duty evaluations. Qualifications of Evaluators
- Evaluators must have a license in good standing in the following professions:
- Physician (MD or DO)
- Licensed Mental Health Professional (LCSW, CMHC etc.)
- Psychologist
- APRN
- Physician Assistant
